Tour Details

When a wealthy local family didn’t offer hospitality to a poor woman and her son, God was offended and buried them under the mounds of sand 50km south of “Arfoud” called “Erg Chebbi”… So goes the legend of the dunes rising majestically above the twin towns of Merzouga. – But the reality is even more unbelievable. Shape-shifting to reach heights of 160m, Erg Chebbi glows a stunning shade of rose gold, until afternoon sunlight tints the dunes orange, pink and purple.

The most popular desert tour in Morocco is the Group Shared 3-day Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour. It starts from Marrakech every day. This desert safari is ideal for those who want to experience and discover the deep Sahara desert of Morocco and don’t mind driving for long hours. The tour is rich in scenery; as you’re going to be busy admiring one scene after another, you’ll never get bored.

The dramatic change in the landscape is breathtaking. From the fertile plains of Haouz around Marrakech to the mountains of the High Atlas, then to different valleys and mountain ranges. The highlight of this trip is your sunset camel drive when you arrive at Merzouga and the overnight sleep under the stars in the desert.
